There are some things you should know before installing MotorWare
EZ-IP 2011 Edition on Windows Vista or Windows 7:
- A user must have "Administrator"
privileges to install MotorWare. Generally the default account you
create after you purchase a new computer from a hardware vendor
has "Administrator" privileges. A user need not be an Administrator
to run MotorWare.
- Software activation takes place
on a per machine basis.
- You may need to disable Windows
Firewall or define MotorWare to the firewall before attempting to
activate the software. In most cases the MotorWare
installation will create a Windows Firewall exception for
MotorWare. But you should verify that an exception has been
created in your firewall software. Without a firewall exception,
MotorWare EZ-IP 2011 Edition may not activate or function
normally.
- MotorWare database data is
now stored by default in the PROGRAMDATA area. It is
no longer stored in \program files\motorware
- If you are using a non default company,
avoid locations restricted by Windows Vista and Windows 7 for user data such as
the "Program Files" folder. Be sure to choose a location accessible
to all users of the computer.
- Browse window preferences for your
list of "Open Jobs" are now stored on a per-user instead of per-machine
basis.
- Some parts of the "MotorWare Learning
Center" may not support the Windows Aero interface™
The system may automatically switch to Windows Basic colors when
those features are invoked. You will not notice this issue
during routine use of the software, since the learning center features
are typically used only by new users.
- Please download and install the
latest version of Adobe Acrobat®. Reader from
Adobe before attempting
to view the User's Guide.
